The “Four Noble Truths”

1. Suffering exists.

“The Truth of Suffering is when one is born, gets old, gets sick and dies, one suffers. Associating with what one does not like, separating from what one wants, not having what one wants, these situations cause suffering.

2. The Cause of Suffering is attachment.

“The Truth of the origin of Suffering means desire, makes us be incarnated, accompanied with pleasure and passion, always finding new satisfactions here or there. That is the desire for the pleasures that the senses give, the desire for existence and the desire for non-existence.

3. We free ourselves from suffering by renunciation.

“The Truth of the Cessation of Suffering consists of the total extinction and cessation of desire, freeing oneself from its dependence.”

4.”The way to free oneself from suffering is by practising the ‘Noble Eightfold Path.’”
